Symphony Desktop Manual Uninstall Steps for Mac

Here are the steps for manually uninstalling Symphony Desktop and anything associated with it:

  • Disconnect Symphony Desktop from your computer.
  • Trash any existing Symphony Desktop / Apogee Control 2 installer packages you might have on your computer (downloads folder, desktop, etc.)
  • Download latest installer package here.
  • Open the installer package you downloaded and run the Apogee Control2 UNinstaller.
  • Trash the following if any of these files exist after uninstalling:
    • MacHD / Library / Application Support > Avid > Audio > Plugin-Ins > all Apogee plugins (Apogee Channel FX, Clearmountain's Spaces, EQP-1A, MEQ-5, ModComp, ModEQ, Opto-3A, Symphony ECS Channel Strip)
    • MacHD / Library / Audio / Plug-Ins / Components / all Apogee plugins (Apogee Channel FX, Clearmountain's Spaces, EQP-1A, MEQ-5, ModComp, ModEQ, Opto-3A, Symphony ECS Channel Strip)
    • MacHD / Library / Audio / Plug-Ins / VST / all Apogee plugins (Apogee Channel FX, Clearmountain's Spaces, EQP-1A, MEQ-5, ModComp, ModEQ, Opto-3A, Symphony ECS Channel Strip)
    • MacHD / Library / Audio / Plug-Ins / VST3 / all Apogee plugins (Apogee Channel FX, Clearmountain's Spaces, EQP-1A, MEQ-5, ModComp, ModEQ, Opto-3A, Symphony ECS Channel Strip)

(for the next set of things, you'll need to make sure your User Library is visible)

  • MacHD / Users / Admin / Library / Application Support / Apogee
  • MacHD / Users / Admin / Library / Audio / Presets / Apogee (make sure to copy any presets you don't want to lose before trashing this folder!)
  • MacHD / Users / Admin / Library / Caches / AudioUnitCache / com.apple.audiounits.cache
  • MacHD / Users / Admin / Library / Caches / com.apple.logic10 / Cache.db, Cache.db-shm, Cache.db-wal
  • MacHD / Users / Admin / Library / Logs / Apogee
  • MacHD / Users / Admin / Library / Preferences / com.apogeedigital.Control.plist
  • MacHD / Users / Admin / Library / Preferences / com.apogeedigital.Messenger.plist    (if you see any other apogee files in this location, trash them as well)
  • MacHD / Users / Admin / Library / Preferences / com.apple.logic.pro.cs
  • MacHD / Users / Admin / Library / Preferences / com.apple.logic10.plist
  • Restart the Mac
  • Run the Apogee Control2 installer.
  • Restart the Mac
