# Not getting audio input/output in DAW with Symphony I/O MkII

If you are not getting audio input/output in your DAW with Symphony I/O MkII, work through the following checks:  

- Confirm that the connection icon on the Symphony I/O MkII front-panel touchscreen is blue (located in the upper-right corner of the touchscreen). If the icon is orange, disconnect and reconnect the Thunderbolt cable between your Mac and your Symphony I/O MkII. If the icon remains orange after reconnecting, confirm that you have the latest Symphony I/O MkII software installed on your Mac.
- Confirm that Symphony I/O MkII is selected as your default I/O device in your DAW and in **Audio MIDI Setup** (navigate to **Applications \> Utilities \> Audio MIDI Setup**).
- Perform a Hard Reset to restore default routing. For instructions, see How to Perform a Hard Reset on Symphony I/O MkII.
- Unless you have the Mic Pre module installed in your Symphony I/O MkII, do not connect microphones directly to the analog inputs of the I/O modules. These inputs are line-level only and do not include mic preamps.
- In the lower-right area of **Symphony Control**, confirm that the outputs are not muted and that the output level is not set too low. If you are using Speaker Sets on the main outputs, confirm that the correct Speaker Set is selected.
