Can I install the ONE for iPad/Mac firmware to my original ONE (first generation) for iPad compatibility?

Can the original Apogee ONE be updated to work with iPad or iPhone?

No. The original ONE cannot be updated to work with an iPad or iPhone. It lacks the hardware required to support these Apple devices, and no firmware update can add this capability. At the time of development, the necessary technology was not available. ONE for iPad & Mac is a separate product redesigned specifically for iOS and Mac connectivity, meeting the following criteria:

iOS device charging — when using the power supply rather than battery power, ONE charges the iPad (or iOS device).
Direct digital connection meeting Apple’s MFi standards.
Native software control with Apogee Maestro
Apogee sound quality without compromise (this requires adequate power).
