Apogee plugins have a new home: Plugin Alliance

Apogee plugins are now available at Plugin Alliance – with improved interfaces, simpler licensing, and no iLok required. This guide explains how to claim and install your new plugins, keep existing sessions working, and get support.

Apogee Plugins Have Moved to Plugin Alliance

Apogee plugins have moved to Plugin Alliance, bringing simpler licensing, updated interfaces, and continued software development through Plugin Alliance and Brainworx.

Existing Apogee perpetual plugin owners receive their new Plugin Alliance versions at no charge. Your new licenses are assigned directly to your Plugin Alliance account, with no voucher codes or checkout required.

We recommend completing your transition to Plugin Alliance promptly. Our support teams are ready to assist with the transition, and getting set up now is the best way to resolve any account or licensing questions while dedicated assistance is readily available.

How to Access Your New Plugins

You'll receive an email from Apogee when your new licenses are ready.

Important: Use the exact email address specified in your Apogee migration email when signing in or creating your Plugin Alliance account. Your licenses are assigned to that address and will not appear if you use a different email.

  1. Sign in or create your account at Plugin Alliance using the email address specified in your migration email.
  2. Find your new Apogee licenses in your Plugin Alliance account.
  3. Download and install your plugins using the Plugin Alliance Installation Manager.

Using a Different Email Address or Merging Accounts

Want to use a different email address?

No problem! Once you've accessed your licenses, you can change your email address anytime in your Plugin Alliance account settings.

Received migration emails at multiple addresses, or already have a Plugin Alliance account under a different email?

Your licenses are associated with the email addresses originally used for your Apogee purchases or registrations.

First, sign in or create a Plugin Alliance account using the email address specified in each migration email. Once you've accessed your licenses, contact Plugin Alliance Support to have your accounts and licenses merged into one.

You can then manage all your plugins through a single Plugin Alliance account using your preferred email address.

What About My Existing iLok Plugins?

Your original iLok versions will continue to work on authorized systems. The new Plugin Alliance versions are separate installations, so you can keep both available for existing and future projects.

We recommend keeping your original iLok versions installed for recalling existing sessions, while using the new Plugin Alliance versions for future projects.

Legacy installers remain available on the Apogee Downloads page under the Plugin Installers tab.

What's New in the Plugin Alliance Versions?

The new versions offer several improvements:

  • No iLok required: Plugin licensing and installation are managed through Plugin Alliance.
  • Resizable interfaces: Adjust plugin windows to fit your screen and workflow.
  • Three activations per license: Increased from two with the original iLok versions.
  • Continued development: Updates, compatibility improvements, and ongoing development through Plugin Alliance and Brainworx.
ECS2 Channel Strip

The native ECS Channel Strip has been redesigned as ECS 2, with an updated interface and expanded EQ functionality.

Improvements include an additional midrange EQ band, expanded high-pass filtering, and a new low-pass filter.

The original ECS plugin remains available for existing projects. ECS 2 is a separate plugin and does not automatically replace existing instances.

Note: The ECS DSP processing built into compatible Apogee hardware remains unchanged. ECS 2 refers to the native plugin.

MOD Series Owners: Your Replacement Plugins

MOD EQ 6 and MOD Comp are not being ported to Plugin Alliance. Instead, owners will receive two premium Brainworx plugins at no additional cost:

  • MOD EQ 6 → bx_digital V3: A powerful mastering-grade EQ with advanced stereo and Mid/Side processing capabilities.
  • MOD Comp → bx_glue: A versatile bus compressor designed to bring cohesion, punch, and character to your mixes.

We consider these replacements meaningful upgrades and think you'll appreciate the additional capabilities once you've had a chance to try them.

Your original MOD plugins aren't going away. Existing authorized versions will continue to work, and legacy installers will remain available for download on the Apogee Downloads website. You can keep using them and recalling existing sessions while exploring the new Brainworx alternatives.

Your replacement licenses will be assigned directly to your Plugin Alliance account alongside your other Apogee plugins.

I Have an Unused Apogee Plugin Redemption Code. What Should I Do?

If you have an unused Apogee plugin or bundle redemption code that was not issued by Plugin Alliance, please contact Apogee Support first. Our team will help verify your entitlement and assist you with accessing the corresponding plugins through Plugin Alliance.

What if My New Licenses Don't Appear?

First, confirm that you're signed in to Plugin Alliance using the exact email address specified in your Apogee migration email.

If your licenses still aren't visible, contact Apogee Support so we can investigate.
