Apogee Plugin Migration to Plugin Alliance

Migration Guide & FAQ

Beginning October 1, 2026, Apogee native plugins will transition to Plugin Alliance for licensing, installation, updates, and future development.

Existing Apogee plugin owners will receive Plugin Alliance versions of their Apogee plugins at no charge.

The Plugin Alliance versions are separate from the existing PACE/iLok versions. Existing PACE/iLok installations should be retained for compatibility with sessions created using those versions.

Claiming Your Plugin Alliance Versions

How will I receive my Plugin Alliance versions?

Apogee plugin owners will receive an email with instructions for claiming their Plugin Alliance versions.

After the plugins are claimed, they will be associated with your Plugin Alliance account and can be installed using the Plugin Alliance Installation Manager.

Is there a charge to migrate my plugins?

No. Existing Apogee plugin owners will receive the corresponding Plugin Alliance versions of their plugins at no charge.

Do I need a Plugin Alliance account?

Yes. A Plugin Alliance account is required to claim, install, and manage the Plugin Alliance versions.

If you already have a Plugin Alliance account, you can use your existing account. Otherwise, you can create one during the redemption process.

Does my Plugin Alliance account need to use the same email address as my Apogee or iLok account?

No. The email address used for your Plugin Alliance account does not need to match the email address associated with your existing Apogee or iLok account.

You will need access to the email address where your Apogee migration information is sent.

When will I receive my migration information?

Apogee will send migration information by email with instructions for claiming your Plugin Alliance versions.

Installing the Plugin Alliance Versions

How do I install my new plugins?

After claiming your plugins, install them using the Plugin Alliance Installation Manager.

The Plugin Alliance versions are separate installations from the existing Apogee PACE/iLok versions.

Do the Plugin Alliance versions require iLok?

No. The new Plugin Alliance versions do not use PACE/iLok licensing.

Licensing and installation of these versions are handled through Plugin Alliance.

Should I uninstall my existing PACE/iLok versions?

No.

Keep your existing Apogee PACE/iLok versions installed if you need to open sessions created with those versions.

The Plugin Alliance versions are separate plugin installations and do not replace the legacy plugin instances stored in existing sessions.

Can both versions be installed on the same computer?

Yes. The existing PACE/iLok versions and the Plugin Alliance versions can coexist on the same system.

For existing sessions, retain the PACE/iLok versions. For new sessions, use the Plugin Alliance versions.

Existing Sessions and Legacy Versions

Will existing sessions continue to open with my Apogee plugins?

Yes, provided the PACE/iLok versions used by those sessions remain installed and authorized.

Existing sessions will continue to reference the plugin versions with which they were created.

Will an existing session automatically use the Plugin Alliance version?

No.

The existing PACE/iLok versions and the new Plugin Alliance versions are separate plugins. Installing a Plugin Alliance version does not automatically replace an existing Apogee plugin instance in a session.

Which versions should I use for new sessions?

Use the Plugin Alliance versions for new projects after you have completed the migration.

The Plugin Alliance versions will receive future compatibility updates, bug fixes, and ongoing development.

Keep the existing PACE/iLok versions installed for recalling previous sessions.

Where can I download the existing PACE/iLok versions?

Legacy Apogee plugin installers will remain available from the Apogee Downloads page.

Go to:

https://apogeedigital.com/download-files/

Select the Plugin Installers tab to locate the Apogee plugin installers.

MOD EQ 6 and MOD Comp

What happens if I own MOD EQ 6 or MOD Comp?

MOD EQ 6 and MOD Comp will not receive direct Plugin Alliance versions.

Instead, MOD EQ 6 and MOD Comp owners will receive upgrades to premium EQ and compressor options from the Plugin Alliance catalog.

Existing MOD EQ 6 and MOD Comp installations will continue to work and should be retained for compatibility with existing sessions.

Will the replacement plugins automatically open in sessions that use MOD EQ 6 or MOD Comp?

No.

The replacement products are separate plugins. Sessions containing MOD EQ 6 or MOD Comp will continue to reference the original MOD plugins.

Keep the existing MOD plugins installed and authorized if you need to recall those sessions.

Plugin Alliance Subscribers

I already subscribe to Plugin Alliance. What changes for me?

Apogee plugins will be included in applicable Plugin Alliance subscription offerings beginning October 1, 2026.

Subscription access is separate from your existing Apogee plugin ownership. If you already own Apogee plugins, you can still claim the Plugin Alliance versions associated with those plugins independently of your subscription.

Unredeemed Apogee Plugin Codes

I have an Apogee plugin code that I have not redeemed. What should I do?

Redeem and activate any unused Apogee plugin codes through the existing Apogee redemption process before October 1, 2026 whenever possible.

This ensures that the corresponding license is registered before the transition.

If you have a valid previously purchased code and are unable to redeem it, contact Apogee Support.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are my existing Apogee plugins being deactivated on October 1?

No.

Currently activated PACE/iLok versions will continue to work after October 1, 2026.

Do I need to migrate existing sessions to the Plugin Alliance versions?

No.

Keep the existing PACE/iLok versions installed for sessions that already use them. Use the Plugin Alliance versions for new projects after completing the migration.

Can I delete my old Apogee plugin versions after installing the Plugin Alliance versions?

Only if you no longer need them to open existing sessions.

Because the two versions are separate plugin installations, removing the existing PACE/iLok version may cause sessions created with that version to report the plugin as missing.

Will the Plugin Alliance versions receive future updates?

Yes.

Future compatibility updates, bug fixes, maintenance, and ongoing development will apply to the Plugin Alliance versions.

Will the Plugin Alliance versions have resizable interfaces?

Yes. The Plugin Alliance versions will include fully scalable user interfaces.

Troubleshooting

My existing session reports that an Apogee plugin is missing.

Determine whether the session was created using the existing PACE/iLok version or the Plugin Alliance version.

Sessions created before the migration will generally reference the existing PACE/iLok plugin. If that version has been removed, reinstall the corresponding Apogee plugin from the Apogee Downloads page and ensure that its existing license is available.

I use a different email address for Plugin Alliance.

This is supported. Your Plugin Alliance account email does not need to match the email associated with your Apogee or iLok account.

Where can I get additional help?

For questions regarding your existing Apogee licenses, legacy plugin installers, or Apogee plugin ownership, contact Apogee Support.

For Plugin Alliance account, installation, and authorization questions relating to the new versions, Plugin Alliance support resources are available through Plugin Alliance.
